Randi Borgen joins her siblings Jon-Erik Borgen and Kaia Borgen Mortiz as investors in Denver NWSL through their investment company, FirstTracks Sports Ventures (FTSV). Formed in 2022, FTSV and the Borgen family were key contributors in the early movement and eventual bid to bring an NWSL team to Denver. Along with her siblings, Randi is a Colorado native, a life-long athlete, and an advocate for equality for women in sports. Randi graduated from Middlebury College, where she lettered in field hockey, skiing, and lacrosse, and has coached all three sports at the high school and collegiate levels.
Cordillera Investment Partners is an investment management firm that exclusively invests in niche, non-correlated assets. Cordillera believes the Denver team is a perfect fit for its growing portfolio of investments that are under the radar to the institutional investment world but demonstrate compelling growth and uncorrelated return potential. NWSL is elevating and growing the world of women’s soccer, and the firm is excited to support the team in its next phase of growth. The city of Denver, and specifically its sports fanbase, is not foreign to Cordillera. Two of the firm’s three Co-Founders & Co-Managing Partners hail from the Denver area, including Ashley Marks, who will also sit on the team’s Board. Marks, a Denver resident, played soccer at the University of Michigan and served as an assistant coach for the Stanford Women’s Soccer team.
Raj Soin and Vishal Soin represent two generations of entrepreneurial leadership and philanthropic commitment of the Soin Family. Raj Soin is a pioneering entrepreneur whose career spans over five decades of executive leadership, business innovation, and strategic investment. Brooke Woody started her career in the financial services industry in North Carolina after graduating from Wake Forest University. She is passionate about supporting women's sports and entered the women's sports arena with a minority ownership stake in the NC Courage. She and her husband John are dedicated to investing in organizations that lift up women and build up communities. Brooke is an active volunteer and works with several local community non-profits. She recently served on the board of the Community Impact Fund, she is a director of a local foundation, and she volunteers at a community food bank.
Founded in 2022 by Ben Hubbard, Tom Dunmore, Jordan Angeli, and Nicole Glaros, For Denver FC launched the public movement that ultimately contributed in bringing professional women's soccer to Colorado. For Denver FC's work was instrumental in the early stages of Denver’s pursuit of an NWSL franchise, helping lay the foundations for Denver's successful bid by generating deep grassroots enthusiasm, exploring infrastructure solutions, and engaging Rob Cohen and other key members of the ownership group. In early 2025, Hubbard, Dunmore, Angeli, and Glaros were joined by Stacy Carter to form For Denver FC Capital Partners, which includes Yoav Lurie and Lana Kimayeva, Jodi Asarch, Sebastian Somen, Thomas and Carrie Hutchinson, and others.
Denver NWSL will begin play in 2026 and is preparing to break ground on a state-of-the-art performance center in Centennial, Colo. The club also unveiled plans for a future stadium district in downtown Denver, which will represent the largest investment in women’s team sports infrastructure in history.
